WARMLEY ‘B’ 1

FRY CLUB COLTS  11

Manor Road was the venue for our first away game of 2007 to a team that were bottom of the division. With most games postponed today, this was a good opportunity to earn a convincing victory.

The first 10 minutes were very even as we struggled a little to find our passing and movement. However it wasn’t long before Brad Monelle created a chance which went narrowly wide. Soon after a good move from Mo Bouaziz put the ball through to Craig Andrews who coolly slotted home to put us in the lead which we doubled straight after following another good move down the right. The ball was crossed to the left where Kyle Curtis chipped the ball back over the defence and keeper for Brad Monelle to head home on the goal line. The game was now in our hands and a great corner from Mo Bouaziz to the far post found our sweeper James Hurrell Smith who rose and headed home a great goal to put us 3-0 up. A rare attack by Warmley earnt them a corner and from the resulting scramble the ball was poked home to pull them a goal back. Back up the other end Craig Andrews and Brad Monelle were now getting in behind the Warmley defence with chances just missing the target and 2 being cleared off the line. Warmley had a free kick just before half time which keeper Craig Francis saved comfortably.

At half time we were very much on top and our discussion was to pay off very well in the second half. Jordan Knight came on for our Captain Oli Randall who had a slight back injury and after just 20 seconds he found himself and the ball sliding into the back of the Warmley net to put us 4-1 up. He somehow also managed to take off his shirt in celebration whilst tangled up in the net! This was to prove the catalyst as chance after chance was created by our rampant attack. Brad Monelle eventually completed his hat trick but his forward play today was awesome as he got into some very good shooting positions twice hitting the bar and being unlucky on several other occasions. His partner Craig Andrews also completed his hat trick with some more good finishing but it was our Midfield player Mo Bouaziz who also stole the limelight as his forward play was rewarded with 3 very well taken second half goals to completely dominate the Midfield battles. The support from wide men Nathan Dawson, Dean Lapham and in particular Kyle Curtis was also a positive factor to help out our defence and midfield. In fact our keeper Craig Francis was rarely troubled thanks mainly to James Hurrell Smith, James Boulton and Michael Payne.

Overall, 11-1 was as it sounds a very good win and although we could have doubled that tally, it was a very convincing performance that helped us to this scoreline.

As already mentioned, there were some very good individual performances for today’s Man of the Match, especially from all of the goal scorers and the likes of Kyle Curtis, Michael Payne, Danny McCarthy and James Boulton. However, it was awarded today to Mo Bouaziz as he really did play extremely well in Midfield and thoroughly deserved his second half hat trick.
